Mezzanine Floors

What is a Mezzanine Floor?

Mezzanine floors are a practical and cost-effective way to generate more space, using a building’s existing footplate, reducing the need for costly extensions or the hassle of moving premises.

Dead space can easily be transformed into a working storage area and mezzanine flooring can be built on multi-tier levels to maximise the internal storage capacity. As well as being used to increase storage space, our structural steel mezzanine floors can also be used to double the amount of office space available, accommodating more people and office equipment that you may have thought possible.

As leading mezzanine floor installers, we will make sure the floors are fabricated to the relevant load requirements, so their safety and stability is guaranteed.

Mezzanine Floor design and installation

We supply and install our mezzanine floors and accessories predominantly for trade customers. Each one is bespoke and tailored to meet the exact requirements of the job.

We start with a comprehensive site survey and take exact measurements in order to produce accurate working drawings and structural calculations, using the most up to date industry standard software.

We organise the materials and installation teams for each project – the site supervisor manages the onsite team, the offloading of materials and, where required, hired-in plant and equipment. Once complete the supervisor takes the site contact around the installation for a final check before obtaining a signing off note.

Industrial and Warehouse Mezzanine

The main reason organisations install mezzanine storage systems is for more space. In fact, the amount of space available can be pretty much doubled.

Our warehouse mezzanine floors and industrial mezzanine flooring can be designed to whatever specification the project requires. The large increase in the amount of space available means that that the organisation may not need to lease or purchase additional premises, which is obviously highly financially advantageous.

The addition of mezzanine storage systems provides the opportunity for clients’ staff to work in a more efficient environment, leading to increased productivity. Stock can also be stored more efficiently and economically.

Retail and Office Mezzanine

Retail Mezzanine Floors

Mezzanine storage systems can be adapted for any building or unit and can be installed while the retail premises are under construction or being retro-fitted.

Retail mezzanine solutions can be used within the shop floor environment to increase the amount of product display space or can be used in the associated office or warehousing space to increase the storage capacity.

In the shop floor area, our retail mezzanine systems are stylish, as well as practical, and our clients can select their preferred size, style and finish.

Office Mezzanine Floors

Adding another office floor to your existing premises makes a lot of sense – it avoids the massive investment in both time and money of extending premises or searching for, and then relocating to, new premises. It also saves a lot of disruption and keeps the office running much more effectively.

Adding an office mezzanine floor means businesses can increase their number of employees, or increase their filing and storage space, or both. We’re always here to help and can answer any questions about the suitability of existing premises for new office mezzanine floors.

Mezzanine Floor fire protection

Mezzanine platforms that are larger than 400m2 or 20m in any direction and are being used for anything other than storage space (e.g. office space, working areas) need to be fire rated.

When people are based on the new mezzanine floor, fire rated offices and protected fire escape routes can be installed on or under the mezzanine floor to provide safe passage or refuge areas during a fire.

As well as protecting your clients’ staff or public, the mezzanine floor can be protected as well using the following:

  • Column casings
  • Suspended ceilings
  • Bulkhead and fascia
  • Smoke cavity barriers

So, after a fire the structure can be easily assessed and ready to use with minimal disruption.

Cantilever Racking

To maximise the storage capacity of a client’s working yard or external warehouse we can install cantilever racking.

This warehouse storage system is fully customisable and can support single or double-sided vertical storage for bulky goods.
